The Dahlia is a symbol of enduring, grace and creativity.
Dahlia are considered one of the most spectacular garden flowers. There is a great variety of form in dahlias, and colors range from a more subdued white, yellow, lavender, and pale pink to a powerful fuchsia, purple and even black. The main season for Dahlia is June through October.
The bright, vibrant colours are used in place of any kind of fragrance or scent to attract pollinating insects and birds. They range from dinner-plate sized to bright, little single ones.
Dahlias are natives of the mountainous regions of Mexico and, although they grow in a warm country, they are actually temperate plants requiring cooler conditions. There are 30 species and 20,000 cultivars of Dahlias.
